Our Savior

A quote: "Having faith in God means having faith what God is and what He has always been. If He answers prayer once, we can rest assured that His natural response to prayer is to answer it. If He heals one suffering individual, it is because He is a healer; it’s in His nature to heal. If He forgives one repentant person, it is because He is the Forgiver. He is God our Savior." 1. On May 5th - a small group met at the Good News Community Chapel (The Alabaster House) on Thursday night 7 - 9 p.m. Our quest is to touch God with worship and prayer. Pastor Brad Killian led worship that night.

The Alabaster House purpose is to release God's fragrance and healing oil into the community.

In Luke 7:37 we read that, "a woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume."

Her purpose was to break open a jar of expensive fragrance and to pour it over Jesus' feet. The importance of her visit was not that she was sinful or had made the wrong choices. For that matter, the sin was gone the moment she cracked the jar open, for sin cannot stand in the presence of God. She had come to worship her savior, to lavish all that she was on Him - and - to prepare Jesus for what was to come: Death on a cross and burial in a tomb (grave). Luke goes on to point out - she, "stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them."

    This was extravagant love.

This is what we do at the Alabaster House. We also bring an Alabaster Jar to the King - our tears wet His feet and our oil anoint them.

Mark records that Jesus responds, "“Leave her alone.” “Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me. She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”

No matter what you have done, no matter what your life is like, Jesus will help you. His love is unconditional.

  2. Goliath trusted in his own bulk and prowess. David, Israel’s unarmed youngster as a challenger looked like a studied insult. “Am I a dog that you come at me with sticks?” But David did not come with sticks. He said “I come in the name of the Lord Almighty”. David’s trust in God made it an unequal duel – Goliath against God. Faith brings more than confidence. It is brings God on your side. Blessed?
