The Alabaster House Location

The Alabaster House - will be in the Good News Community Chapel on Thursday Nights @ 7 p.m.

Exodus 40:9
Take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it and all its furnishings, and it will be holy.

Mark 14

Jesus Anointed at Bethany
1 Now the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were scheming to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him. 2 “But not during the festival,” they said, “or the people may riot.”

3 While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.

4 Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, “Why this waste of perfume? 5 It could have been sold for more than a year’s wages and the money given to the poor.” And they rebuked her harshly.

6 “Leave her alone,” said Jesus. “Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 7 The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me. 8 She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. 9 Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”

---------------

The fragrance of such an extravagance sacrifice filled the house with its perfume saturating every aspect with a model of love and worship. We believe this to be true in our worship and our prayers, we become the Alabaster Jar (House) released into the environment, the community, and to the ends of the earth - God's Love and Healing.

The Alabaster House Pinckney Michigan

The Alabaster House, an outreach into Pinckney, found a geographical location to pray, worship, and soak. We are developing a site in downtown Pinckney. The Good News Community Chapel has provided space on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. to worship God and pray over the community with a special emphasis on the kids. We will be located at 104 Putman Street, Pinckney, Michigan - just a block off Main Street. Our first time was on Thursday, April 21st. This has unique significance as it was Maundy Thursday. It was not planned that way, but God always has a plan.

While different denominations observe Maundy Thursday in their own ways, two important biblical events are a primary focus of Maundy Thursday:

Before the Passover meal, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. By performing this humble act of love, the Bible says in John 13:1 that Jesus "showed them the full extent of his love." By his example, Jesus demonstrated how Christians are to love one another through humble acts, serving others, and building relationships.

During the Passover meal, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." These events recorded in Luke 22:19-20 describe the Last Supper and form the biblical basis for the practice of Communion. Many believers observe a traditional Passover Seder meal.

Thank you to Good News Community Chapel for the use of your church. The Alabaster House is a part of the Catch The Fire (CTF) network of prayer/soaking centers that has its base in both Toronto, Canada and Raleigh, North Carolina.

Come as you are.

Psalm 23 Prayer for the Hurting and those in Need

The Lord is the Shepherd, the Provision, and is Sufficient. He is the Green Pasture, the Quiet Waters. He is the Rest and Restoration of souls. He is the Guide on the pathway to Righteousness. He is the Courage to face fear in the Valley of the Shadow of Death. He is the Presence of the Living God. He is the Rod and the Staff - ...the Comfort and the Comforter. He is the Table Prepared in the Presence of His enemies, with the Bread and the Wine, the Body and the Blood of His Son Jesus, the Lamb of God, the Darling of Heaven. He is the Anointing, the Blood the Wine the Water and the Oil. He is the Cup that overflows. He is the Goodness and Mercy that follows day and night. He is the Dwelling Place, the Fortress, Strong Tower, Defender, Healer, Shield, and Much More.

Soaking In His Presence

Soaking Music Calms Your Heart and Allows You to “Be” with God

Posted with permission from Soaking Music (www.thumbpeople.com)

“Soaking in the Spirit” is making a comeback. Often referred to as “waiting on the Lord,” Christians are eager to soak in the messages and learn what God has planned for them. Soaking music is a perfect way to do that. Soaking music, or prayer music, is soothing, calming melodies with healing scriptures read over it. The scriptures are meant for us to mediate upon as we spend time “soaking” in the Spirit and developing a relationship with Christ. Basking in healing scriptures and hearing God’s voice are all part of the soaking music experience. The primary goal of soaking music or prayer music is to rest, both physically and spiritually as we soak in God’s presence allowing the Lord to rejuvenate us. Soaking music can be listened to while lying down and enjoying music that is soft and soothing in nature. Some find hearing God’s voice easier when the music is instrumental while others hear the voice of the Lord through the lyrics of the songs or the healing scriptures being recited. Listening to soaking music should be a relaxing, peaceful, rejuvenating experience. One of my favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 40:31 which reads, “But those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. They mount up on wings like eagles, they will run not be weary, they will walk and not grow faint.” The concept of waiting on the Lord is not easy for us. We are a society of people who desire things to be done quickly and in our favor. But the Lord wants us to wait for His timing. Learning to be quiet and patient with God is incredibly important in developing a lasting and fruitful relationship with Jesus Christ. Hearing God’s voice through soaking music or reading healing scriptures while listening to prayer music is a perfect opportunity to learn to wait on God. ThumbPeople’s soaking music is filled with words of hope and peace and make hearing God’s voice possible. Their soaking music titled, “Words of Love,” “Words of Blessing” and “Words of Healing” have healing scriptures for just about any situation or need. The soothing music will calm your mind and encourage your heart while the healing scriptures will inspire and give you hope. Soaking music can be listened to at any time, in any place, and will help you to settle your mind and be one with God. Gather some soaking music or prayer music and begin meditating and growing in God today! ThumbPeople’s “Words of Love,” “Words of Healing” and “Words of Blessing” soaking music helps draw you into God’s perfect love and His peaceful presence where your hope will be renewed and your spirit refreshed.

PRAISE: March 7th, 2011

Psalm 139:23-24

Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
